This is the courageous story of Wayne Coffey, the founder of No More Stolen Childhoods. Coffey himself was victimized by his uncle from age five to 13. It was not until Coffeys 40s, however, that he revealed his painful secret. Doing so required him to relive his painful experiences, as well as to re-evaluate his life and relationships. Although his story is heart wrenching, it, ultimately, is inspirational. For as we learn, sexual abuse may be a crime that lasts a lifetime, but it cannot stop the human spirit from creating a hopeful future.

Wayne Coffey founded No More Stolen Childhoods in 2004, with the mission of raising awareness of childhood sexual abuse, educating and protecting children from it, and to help victims heal and find fulfillment in their lives. A victim of abuse himself, Wayne tirelessly works to ensure that children everywhere can live safely and free from abuse.

Although Wayne began his career as the manager of a farm in Baltimore County, he has worked for more than 20 years in the insurance industry. He began working in this field in 1986 as a sales associate with Stump, Harvey & Cook, which was purchased by Coroon & Black a year later.  A top performer, Wayne was selected to represent Baltimore on Corroon & Blacks Young Professional Council.  In 1989 he was hired by Charter Group, the 74th largest insurance agency in the United States with over 47 million in premium. Wayne was later promoted to President, Chief Executive Officer of Charter Risk Management, a subsidiary of Charter Group, where he managed over $35,000,000 in premiums.

In 1992, Wayne started his own independent insurance company named Coffey & Company.  As president and owner of Coffey & Company, Wayne is committed to changing the perception and reality of the insurance agency system. His agency operates under three core principles: integrity, professionalism and competence. The company offers all lines of insurance, including consulting services and employs ten people. Coffey & Companys innovative strategies and successes have been noted in annual reports, industry trade publications and textbooks.

In addition to leading No More Stolen Childhoods and speaking across the country on the topic of childhood sexual abuse, Wayne has served on boards for the Producers Advisory Council for Commercial Union, USF&G, Chubb and St. Paul, Selective and CNA. When not working in the insurance business, he happily devotes much of his spare time to church, his favorite charities and civic duties. He is the President of the Baltimore Chapter of Legatus, a Catholic Church Organization of CEOs and Presidents dedicated to leading their businesses to reflect the churchs teaching. He also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Advisors for Bay National Bank, serves on the board of Good Shepherd Center, and is an advisor to Join-Up International, the non-profit for Monty Roberts, The Horse Whisperer.

In 2007, facing the immense challenges of living with the scars of his abuse, Wayne published the cathartic book, No More Stolen Childhoods. The book tells Waynes courageous story of his search to heal himself, heal his family, protect all children from sexual abuse and, perhaps most importantly, help victims reclaim their lives.

Wayne is currently developing the concept for a second book on healing from being an abuse victim. He has been married for thirty-four years, has four children and two grandsons.
