This is the courageous story of Wayne Coffey, the founder of No More Stolen Childhoods. Coffey himself was victimized by his uncle from age five to 13. It was not until Coffeys 40s, however, that he revealed his painful secret. Doing so required him to relive his painful experiences, as well as to re-evaluate his life and relationships. Although his story is heart wrenching, it, ultimately, is inspirational. For as we learn, sexual abuse may be a crime that lasts a lifetime, but it cannot stop the human spirit from creating a hopeful future.

NO MORE STOLEN CHILDHOODS: A JOURNEY OF HEALING
As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, No More Stolen Childhoods founder, D. Wayne Coffey, understands the profound hardships victims of abuse face, not only as children but also as adults. There is not a single magic bullet that cures the pain a victim has suffered but there are a variety of healing methods that survivors may find beneficial in their personal journey to health and wellness. Wayne will speak about the powerful effects of holistic healing and how these alternative therapies have helped him to become a stronger, healthier person.
Children are often scared to come forward, and parents and caregivers may not recognize or understand the signs that indicate abuse. No More Stolen Childhoods will bring the Safe Kid Club program to elementary schools, daycare centers and camps nationwide, educating and empowering children to understand and identify inappropriate behavior, and will teach them how to speak up if it occurs.
The Safe Kid Club program:
Designed for children in grades 1-3
Focused in 12 core, age-appropriate safety tips
Provides children with tools on how to identify potentially dangerous situations and how to handle them
Based on best practices of Public School Prevention Experts, Law Enforcement, and tips from organizations, such as, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children
45-minute presentation given in an assembly format by certified facilitators
Interactive program includes video vignettes, role-play, and multiple choice questions
An accompanying coloring book reinforces the lessons learned in the presentation and provides parents and caregivers with tips and tools to further support the message
